Our STEM Centre Drones
The STEM Centre currently has two models of drones, one predominantly for flying indoors and one for most of the outside flying. A brief description of each drone is listed below.
The Robomaster TT is a drone aimed at the educational market. It is considered to be a microdrone and is therefore suitable only for flying indoors or when there is no wind outside. It does not have a camera that points down, nor does it have a GPS like other larger drones. However it is a drone that maintains stable flight and has features that other drones don't have such as the ability to code the drones using block, or python programming, as well us the inclusion of the screen at the top to act as a display and also to connect third party sensors. |
The Mini 2 is a small sub 250g drone that, due to its low weight, can be flown in most areas without restriction. Although it is small, it is not a drone designed for indoor flying and will therefore be used outside. It can handle some light wind It has many of the same features as larger drones, it can be flown via GPS and therefore automated flight, including return to home features are available, and the camera can be controlled from the ground. However unlike some larger drones, the camera is not as good, and it does not have any obstacle avoidance sensors to stop the drone before a collision. |
