Modelling Outbreak Spread
With the zombie threat being identified by the World Heath Organisation they are keen to determine the potential rate at which the disease is likely to spread.
You have been tasked with providing them with mathematical modelling to show how quickly the disease is likely to spread through the global population. In this task you will undertake a number of modelling senarios and provide a report outlining how quickly it will spread, and possible timelines in which the whole human population may be infected. |
Senario 1 - Mathematical Modelling
In this senario you will look at the spread of the disease from a purely mathematical viewpoint which provides you with flexibility in how you apply the numbers so that different senarios can be investigated. Part of this is identifying the variables associated with the spread, these may include

- How many people are infected/attacked per day
- The transmission rate (as a percentage) of the disease when attacked
Senario 2 - Scientific Testing
In this senario you will simulate disease spread with a practial in which you will unaware as to whether you are spreading the disease or not. You will take the results as they apply to your small scale testing and make predictions about how will spread through a much larger population.
